Cable Light Ceiling Lamp by Patrick Hartog Design

December 30, 2015

Cable Light Ceiling Lamp- Mooring bollards widely seen on wharves inspired Patrick Hartog to create the Cable Light Ceiling Lamp. The cable is wrapped around the light and gives an unique look to the simple but aesthetic looking shade. The metal ring on top makes sure the light is balanced and is a link to the original bollards often created from robust metal.

The Cable Light Ceiling Lamp is created by slip casting. The original shape is made out of plaster on a lathe. Plaster molds are created from this shape. The liquid clay is poured in the molds, this is the slip casting process. The lamp shade and the ceiling rose are matte white glazed, resulting in a clean look in contrast with the decorative textile cable.
