DoMiNo by Reda Amalou

October 5, 2015

DoMiNo is the new collection of lights born from the collaboration between the designer Reda Amalou and Maison Baguès. It is composed of table lamps (in two sizes, 30 and 60 cms), a sconce and a chandelier.

It is manufactured in France in the workshops of Maison Baguès. DoMiNo is designed with two materials: alabaster and bronze (or polished nickel). The pure rectangular forms in alabaster are placed onto a bronze base with a thin strip of bronze cutting the stone in two.

These forms complement and contradict one another: the stone becomes translucent with the hollowed out bronze, creating a subdued light in the composition. This light reveals the veining of the stone, while the bronze becomes a few dark lines, highlighting everything.

The new DoMiNo collection by Reda Amalou and the Maison Baguès will be presented during the Revelations Fair (Stand C7) held at the Grand Palais in Paris from 10th to the 13th of September 2015.

The Revelations fair is a biennial dedicated entirely to the contemporary creation of fine crafts.
