Palace Gate designed by Kelly Hoppen

As a Grade II listed property Palace Gate , situated by Hyde Park, presents a hybrid of both old and new; retaining many of its original features including the fireplaces, doors and window frames, whilst welcoming the modern, playful and quirky style as requested by the client and brought to life by Kelly Hoppen MBE.For this 2100 square foot London home, Kelly’s signature palate of neutral colours is personalised with a vivacious combination of electric blues, purples and reds creating both a modern and classical ambiance throughout the rooms of the house. As a listed townhouse, no extra lighting fixtures could be added, so Kelly utilised those already in place to complement the natural light throughout Palace Gate, creating a bright interior so favoured by the designer. Many of the beautiful original features had to be kept, such as the fireplace and the wood which can be seen on the banisters and window frames. This meant the Kelly had to work around the colour scheme when considering the furniture, so as to ensure a harmonious setting.Set over three floors, the residence comprises of five bedrooms, a living room, family room, dining area, kitchen and five bathrooms, all of which are ensuite with the exception of one.Entering through the middle floor into the family room, the spiral staircase then sweeps you down into the elegant reception area with its monochromatic colour scheme, while the dining room is on the third floor with a beautiful view outside the spectacular large windows.
